Nador sits on the Mediterranean coast of eastern Morocco, beside the Marchica lagoon and next to the Spanish enclave of Melilla. It is not a conventional tourist destination, and that is exactly why the work here is different: a large share of bookings come from the Moroccan community in Europe, arriving by ferry or plane and needing a car to reach a home town inland.
Beni Ansar port takes the ferries from Almeria and Motril, and Nador Al Aroui airport (NDR) serves flights from Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. In both cases arrivals are often at an awkward hour, with a great deal of luggage, and a final destination an hour or two away - precisely the situation where a private driver earns his keep.
For visitors, the area offers the Marchica lagoon with its bird reserve, the beaches at Saidia with their long stretch of sand near the Algerian border, and the eastern Rif mountains towards Al Hoceima. A good road also runs south from here to Fes via Taza.
