Marrakech takes more arrivals than any other Moroccan city and is where most Hong Kong trips begin. There is no direct service, so nearly everyone connects through Dubai, Doha or Istanbul - roughly seventeen hours door to door, landing seven or eight hours behind Hong Kong time.

Jemaa el-Fna at dawn before the square fills, the tanneries in the morning light, the Ourika Valley when the mist is still in it - all of them are a matter of timing, and timing is what a driver controls.
What no amount of planning changes is the medina. It is a sealed grid of one-way lanes admitting no vehicle at all, and parking near the square is negotiated with an informal attendant rather than paid at a machine.
