Marrakech takes more arrivals than any other Moroccan city, and for Indian travellers it is where the trip properly begins. There is no direct service from India, so nearly everyone routes through Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi, arriving in the morning after an overnight connection - which is not the moment to be negotiating at a rental desk.
Two things make Morocco an easier destination than most Indian travellers expect. Entry is visa-free for Indian passport holders for stays of up to ninety days, so there is no application, no appointment and no waiting. And English is widely used in tourism, alongside French and Arabic, so communication is rarely the obstacle people anticipate.
What does need planning is food and the medina. Vegetarian eating is entirely possible here but not automatic - it needs a driver who knows which kitchens do it properly rather than removing the meat from a tagine.
