Casablanca is not a postcard city, and that is precisely why visitors need a car here. It is a working metropolis of nearly four million people spread over a huge area, where the Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche at Ain Diab, the Habous quarter and the business districts are all a long way from one another. Walking between them is not realistic, and taxis are cheap but unpredictable at peak hours.
